About

I work with people on the move, the founders and the finders, those who make things and who make things happen, the adventures and the explorers, and those who navigate many worlds.

Through coaching and consulting, I help individuals, groups, teams, leaders, and organizations determine their destination and make the moves to get there. On the way, I support my clients in exploring possibilities and learning something new about themselves and the world.

In my career of 20+ years, I’ve coached, consulted, and collaborated across the spectrum of work life, with particular focus on strategy, culture, and change as well as onboarding, talent mobility across roles and geographies, and development of managers and leaders.

Before going solo, I led global enterprise onboarding & orientation programs at Google and welcomed tens of thousands Nooglers (new Googlers) each year and also led work to advance Google’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging strategy. Before Google, I served external and internal clients at Deloitte, helping organizations manage, move, and grow global talent in a rapidly changing world.

I’m no stranger to big moves myself, having completed a PhD in Linguistics and teaching college courses before moving to Deloitte. I was also the first in my family to attend college. And I’ve lived, worked, and traveled around the globe since high school. I love learning about people and places through travel, food, and wine.

If you’re looking for a guide to help you navigate the complexities of growth and change, for yourself, your team, or your organization, I’d love to talk. If you’d like to learn more about me, please keep reading.

Experience

Prior to starting my own business, I led enterprise onboarding & orientation programs at Google. We welcomed tens of thousands of Nooglers (newly hired Googlers) each year, setting them up to grow, belong, and perform at Google through innovative experiences. I also led high-visibility work to advance Google’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging strategy through equitable progression for all employees and enterprise learning programs to advance Google’s culture of belonging.

Before Google, I served external and internal clients at Deloitte, helping Fortune 100 organizations manage, move, and grow global talent in a rapidly changing world. This included re-thinking and re-doing strategy and experience for globally mobile employees to achieve business and talent objectives, developing leaders and consultants as experts in the industries we serve, and building cross-cultural and business communication skills for global practitioners. At Deloitte, I also coached both clients and colleagues and was recognized as Coach of the Year.

And before Deloitte, I was a top-rated instructor for the Departments of Linguistics, South Asian Studies, and German at The University of Texas at Austin and active in the global academic community. I also researched “Hinglish” at the intersection of Hindi-English languages and identities, presenting and publishing my work in international forums. While at UT-Austin, I won major awards from the National Science Foundation, US Departments of State & Education, and others.

Education

I am a Certified Coach through the Hudson Institute of Coaching, the leading executive coaching program. While I have coached clients and colleagues for many years, I pursued certification to build on my experience and deepen my expertise.

I also hold a PhD in Linguistics from The University of Texas at Austin and BA in Anthropology from Middlebury College and ground my work in the power of language, culture, and communication to make meaning and create change. I was the first in my family to attend college, and I’m committed to seeing young people into and through college and onto rewarding careers and lives.

I also am a Certified Specialist of Wine through the Society for Wine Educators and hold the Level 3 Award in Wine through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust.

Other Adventures

I love learning about other people and places by living and traveling broadly and through food and wine.

I’ve visited many countries, and I’ve lived, studied, and worked in Germany, India, and Singapore and on all three US coasts. About a fifth of my life has been spent outside my home country, language, and culture. I just moved back to Austin, Texas, USA with my family in late 2023 after many years away and am enjoying tacos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I love to cook, eat, and drink. I really got into wine during COVID (didn’t many of us?), but my interest extended to explore the people, places, languages, cultures, geographies, and histories of wine around the world. After earning two wine certifications, I did what I do best: developed others, in this case in their appreciation of wine through creative courses.
